Hello, everyone. Today I would like for you to search for videos on the following journalism topics: news writing, feature writing, photography, journalism interviewing, newspaper design, copy editing, journalism ethics.

Please go to youtube.com and type in one or more of the above topics, exactly as I wrote it. Then watch videos until you find one that you find interesting or one that you think would be helpful for future newspaper students. Then follow the directions below to post the video on your blog and answers to the questions about the video.

Step 1: Find a video that you would have found helpful this year or you think is interesting.

Step 2: Then copy the embed link on the side of the screen (it will be under the URL link)

Step 3: Go to edublogs, log in and go to your dashboard.

Step 4: Click Write, Click Post and then begin your post.

Step 5: In your post you will be looking at the visual editor. To add your video you will need to click on the HTML button next to the word visual.  Then paste the embed link that you copied from youtube.com on your post.

Step 6: Once you have pasted the link, click on the word “visual” and then answer the following questions.

Why did you choose this video? What makes it better than others? What kind of lesson would you have found it useful for? How would you suggest using it in class?

Testing, One, Two…

This post was from a web 2.0 class that I took this summer. I am putting it here as an example of what I would like for you to do today.

Okay, I stayed up really late last night searching for videos. I found some very useful photography tutorials that I will probably use this year for lessons. The one that I have here, from a guy who calls himself PhotoWalkPro, talks about High Dynamic Range photography using Photoshop. I hadn’t heard about this type of photography before. But after watching some of the videos about it I understand the concept and am eager to try it out. It would also make a great lesson on how to use Adobe Bridge and Photoshop. This man has several videos and I can’t wait to see if the others are as good as this one is for learning.
